Veteran actress Veena Kapoor was allegedly brutally murdered by her son Sachin Kapoor over a property dispute in one of the most horrifying occurrences. According to accounts, he admitted to the crime and claimed that he hit her repeatedly with a baseball bat during a fit of rage. Then, in the Raigad district, he dumped her dead body into a river. After questioning, Mumbai Police detained the suspect and their housekeeper Chhotu, also known as Lalukumar Mandal, for murder.
The security chief of Mumbai's Kalpataru Society reported the 74-year-old actress missing and a police complaint was made. When questioned, Sachin Kapoor admitted to the death and said that his mother was killed as a result of a tense argument about the Rs 12 crore conspiracy.
Nilu Kohli, Veena's co-star from the television programme Meri Bhabhi, posted on Instagram, “Veenaji you deserved better. I am heartbroken, posting this for you. Kya bolun? Am at a total loss of words. I hope you are finally resting in peace after soo many years of struggle.”
As she spoke with TV9 Bharatvarsh, “I worked with Veena ji for about five years in Main Bhabhi. After this serial, we also did another serial together. But before Corona, we lost contact and I got busy with my projects. After the death of a person, we remember these things. I still can't believe she is no more with us.”
According to Economic Times, Veena Kapoor's oldest son resides in the US, according to the authorities. They have filed a complaint against the defendant under Indian Penal Code sections 302, 201, and 34. (IPC). The inquiry is in progress.
