Tusshar Kapoor may not have had a typical Bollywood career, but the actor nonetheless managed to provide some standout screen performances in films like Khakee and Shootout at Wadala. He is most well-known for his comic timing in the Golmaal series, though. The actor, who will reprise his role as Lucky in the fifth installment of the series, recently discussed his initial hesitation to accept the project.
The character was revealed to be the fourth friend in the infamous but generous group of pals. Speech-impaired in the movie, Tusshar's persona went on to enjoy enormous popularity. Sharman Joshi, Arshad Warsi, and Ajay Devgn also appeared in the movie.
The actor discusses his initial reaction to the role and his preparation for it in an interview. "I was originally hesitant and I was approached by Neeraj Bohra ji, jo iss duniya mein nahi hai ab," Tusshar added. He stated that "hum fourth character bana rahe hai," although at the time there were only three characters because it was based on a play. We originally planned to communicate through sign language, but when we started filming, my tutor Vikas Kadam and Rohit changed their minds. Let's create a mute figure that can hear, they said. You run into these people who are familiar with sounds wherever you go, including temples. They are aware of sounds, which I don't want to minimize. The figure we had in mind eventually materialized, and workshops were conducted.”
