Koffee with Karan is back with its seventh edition and the first episode premiered on July 7. A few minutes after the episode debuted, social media was flooded with discussion about the show. And speaking of celebrities, Priyanka Chopra has appeared in almost every season of Koffee with Karan up to this point. It's the ideal time to look back at the actress's previous appearances on the couch, even though she may not be seen this season.

Priyanka and Deepika Padukone appeared on the show in 2014. At this point, Karan Johar questioned her about how Vidya Balan's performance in Kahaani in 2013 had earned her the Filmfare 'Best Actress' Award instead of her own for her work in Barfi. Karan remembers seeing Priyanka make a little prayer as he was on stage announcing the nominees. He added that he noticed her demeanor change after she lost.

Expressing that she did feel sad about it, the actress said, “This film for me was very special. And I knew I wasn’t getting it (the award) before, (but) I sat through it. My dad told me actually. He was ill, he was at the hospital at that time. I told him, ‘I am going for Filmfare. And he was like, ‘Good luck! Your performance was amazing.’ And when I got there…you know, you hear. So, I found out, and I remember calling him and saying ‘I am not winning it. Why should I stay?’ And he said, ‘Because you are a good sportsman. Stay, and clap for someone else. It’s fine.’ So, I decided that I would do that. And yes, it did hurt me. That year, specifically, it did.”

The Quantico actress further added, “I think my performance was a lot more nuanced and different. I mean, for me, it was something completely differently done. But yet, the film – Kahaani- Vidya supported her completely on her shoulders. And it was a film entirely about her, so I understand. It’s always a jury-to-jury decision. But, I feel that Barfi for me was very, very special. It was damn hard. It was really difficult.”

Meanwhile, Priyanka will star in Amazon Prime Video’s Citadel, and the romantic drama It’s All Coming Back to Me. She will also make her Bollywood comeback with the film Jee Le Zaraa alongside Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.
