The most underrated actress in the history of Hindi cinema, Tabu never got her due from the film industry despite giving so many outstanding performances. She made her film debut in the Telugu film, Coolie No. 1. Since then, the talented actress has never looked back. Although she suffered a lot of setbacks. She is finally enjoying recognition in her 50s. Some of her best films are Haider, Drishyam, Andadhun, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and so on.

Back in 2001, in a old interview with Filmfare, the actress talked about her acting career in Bollywood. She shared how she lost the chance to work opposite Aamir Khan in the film Mann. Tabu admitted that before Manisha Koirala was shortlisted, it was she who had already done the photoshoot with the actor.

When the actress was asked to reveal why she was turned down for the film, she clearly mentioned that she didn't know what happens behind the scenes. She shared: "See I would have loved to do a film with Aamir. We even did a photoshoot together for Mann. I'm clueless about what happened after that, I don't know what goes on behind the scenes."

In the same interview, Tabu recalled when she was the first choice for the film Kunwara, starring Govinda.
