On December 23, Kochi, Kerala, is scheduled to host the 2023 IPL mini-auction. The 10 cash-rich teams will attempt to fill 87 vacancies before the start of the following season in the summer of 2023, and almost 40 players will be put up for auction.

Four-time champion Chennai Super Kings Champions are of the Indian Premier League. India Cement Limited is the owner of Chennai Super Kings. N. Srinivasan, a former chairman of the International Cricket Council and president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, is the company's CEO.

Here is a peek at the ten teams' owners as excitement for the IPL mini-auction grows.

KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS: RED CHILLIES ENTERTAINMENT

IPL champions twice, Kolkata Knight Riders. Red Chillies Entertainment is the owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders. Shah Rukh Khan, a legendary figure in Bollywood, owns Red Chillies Entertainment. Juhi Chawla, a Bollywood actress, and her husband Jay Mehta both own shares in the IPL team based in Kolkata.

MUMBAI INDIANS: RELIANCE INDUSTRIES

Bollywood Indians Reliance Industries is the owner of Mumbai Indians, the most successful team in the Indian Premier League. The chairman and managing director of the conglomerate Reliance Industries is business tycoon Mukesh Ambani.

KING XI PUNJAB: PREITY ZINTA & NESS WADIA

Actress Preity Zinta and Businessman Ness Wadia are the owners of Kings XI Punjab, one of the original eight IPL teams that eventually changed its name to Punjab Kings. Wadia serves as the managing director of Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation, which owns stakes in the majority of the businesses of the Wadia Group. The squad is also owned by Indian businessmen Mohit Burman, the managing director of Elephant Capital plc, and Karan Paul, the chairman of the Apeejay Surrendra Group.

DELHI DAREDEVILS: JSW GROUP & GMR GROUP

The JSW Group and GMR Group are the owners of the Delhi Capitals, formerly known as the Delhi Daredevils. The JSW Group is an Indian multinational conglomerate with diverse businesses in steel, energy, infrastructure, cement, paints, etc. Airports, significant energy utilities, motorways, and urban infrastructure facilities are owned, developed, operated, and managed by GMR Group. The Delhi Capitals' jersey carries the JSW emblem prominently.

SUNRISERS HYDERABAD: SUN ORGANISATION

Sunrisers Hyderabad is an IPL team with its home base in Hyderabad. The SUN organisation is the team's owner. The SUG group is a Chennai-based media conglomerate in India. In 1992, Kalanithi Maran started it. In addition to television media, Sun Group publishes two daily newspapers, five magazines, 48 FM radio stations, and a DTH satellite service.

ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE: UNITED SPIRITS & CULVER MAX ENTERTAINMENT

Royal Challengers Bangalore, Hyderabad's southern rival, is owned by United Spirits, an Indian alcoholic beverage conglomerate, and Culver Max Entertainment. While Culver Max Entertainment is an Indian media conglomerate owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment, United Spirits is the second-largest spirits corporation in the world by volume.

RAJASTHAN ROYALS: REDBIRD CAPITAL PARTNERS

Redbird Capital Partners, British-Australian entrepreneur Lachlan Murdoch, and venture capitalist Manoj Badale are the owners of Rajasthan Royals, the inaugural IPL champion. In the ownership of the team, Badale maintains a 65% share, Redbird Capital Partners 15%, and Murdoch 13%.

GUJARAT TITANS: CVC CAPITAL PARTNERS

CVC Capital Partners, a French private equity and investment advisory firm with offices in Luxembourg, is the owner of the most recent IPL champion, Gujarat Titans.

LUCKNOW SUPER GIANTS: RP SANJIV GOENKA GROUP

The RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group is the owner of the Lucknow Super Giants, one of the newest IPL teams along with the Gujarat Titans. Power and energy, carbon black manufacture, retail, IT-enabled services, FMCG, media and entertainment, infrastructure, and education are all part of the RPSG group, a multinational corporation.
