Adah Sharma, a Bollywood actress who is now sweeping the nation with her film 'The Kerala Story,' was recently involved in an accident in the city. The cast and crew of 'The Kerala Story' were threatened with murder by online trolls as a result of the controversy surrounding the movie. Politicians have also demanded that the movie be banned in the nation and charged that the cast and crew intended to foment hate and violence by making the movie.
The primary actress in 'The Kerala Story,' Adah, was involved in a car accident on Sunday in the city. 'The Kerala Story's' production team was en route to Karimnagar for a film promotion event when they were involved in an accident, according to a report. Sudipto Sen, the director, was hurt in the incident. Later on in the day, Adah reaffirmed that everyone was safe and that it was not a serious accident on her Twitter account.
The director also shared a tweet clarifying that the accident was not serious and thanked everyone for their warm wishes.
Despite significant pushback and outrage, 'The Kerala Story' has grown to be one of the highest-grossing films of the year thus far and on Saturday entered the Rs 100 Crore club. According to reports, the movie is based on the true incident of three women from Kerala who converted to Islam and were then smuggled to Syria and Iraq to join ISIS.
The West Bengal administration in the state prohibited the film 'The Kerala Story,' but the Supreme Court later censured the state government for making the decision to prohibit the movie notwithstanding the Censor Board's approval. On the other hand, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh have proclaimed the movie tax-free.
