‘The Kerala Story’ is what the whole nation is talking about. Despite facing numerous challenges and being released amid controversies, Adah Sharma's film performed well at the box office. The story revolves around a group of Kerala women who converted to Islam and joined the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Tovino Thomas, a Malayalam actor from a tiny village in Kerala, commented on the latest film's attempt to portray the state. The actor has chastised the producers for providing deceptive material and urged the audience not to believe all they hear.

Tovino Thomas, who is promoting his latest film ‘2018’, which is based on the 2018 Kerala floods, claims that it cannot be called ‘The Kerala Story’ if the directors are discussing three ladies who converted to Islam. He chastised the creators for providing incorrect information since they reduced the figure from 32000 to 3. 4

He is startled and adds that three incidents cannot be generalized when there are nearly 35 million people in Kerala. He didn't deny that this would not have happened in Kerala; he just doesn't know about it firsthand. He claims that everything we see nowadays is just opinions and that five separate stations show five different versions of the same story.

"I won't deny that this happened," he said in an interview. However, three out of 35 million cannot be generalised, and spreading disinformation is extremely harmful." Concerning the figure that the creators initially listed as 32000 but then modified to 3, Thomas questioned the creators as to why they used such a large figure in the first place.

According to him, 32000 is a fictitious figure, and he doesn't want to say anything since he believes people would understand. He encourages people to stop mindlessly believing things and start thinking and rationalizing. Suggest that the audience not allow anyone to mislead them.

He went on to say that film can be fiction but that the tale cannot be named ‘The Kerala Story’. Thomas, a Kerala native, refuses to acknowledge that this is a Kerala story. He emphasized the 2018 floods, in which people were not divided by religion or political parties or organizations.

He argued that the purpose of cinema is to entertain and to convey messages, hence filmmakers should avoid conveying negative messages. According to Tovino Thomas, cinema is one of the most significant art forms, and it should not be misused. Instead, it should send a strong message that should be taken seriously.
