Well-known filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, whose latest directorial The Kashmir Files (2021) has smashed a series of records at the box office ever since hitting theatres on March 11, has commenced work on his next film, titled The Delhi Files.

The filmmaker took to his Instagram handle and raised the curtain on his new venture. He first thanked the audience for the phenomenal success of The Kashmir Files and then announced The Delhi Files.

Agnihotri wrote, “I thank all the people who owned The Kashmir Files. For the last 4 years, we worked very hard with utmost honesty and sincerity. I may have spammed your TL but it’s important to make people aware of the GENOCIDE and injustice done to Kashmiri Hindus. It’s time for me to work on a new film. The Delhi Files (sic).”

A few moments later, Anupam Kher, who played the lead role in The Kashmir Files and won loads of appreciation for his hard-hitting performance, took to his Twitter handle and wished Vivek Agnihotri luck. The actor also informed that he will be joining the cast soon.

“Good luck dear Vivek Agnihotri for The Delhi Files! I am sure as a filmmaker you will do great justice to another chapter of our past dealt wrongly. Looking forward to being part of it. ???? #RightToLife,” the veteran actor wrote.

The poster that Kher shared on Twitter hints at The Delhi Files being based on the 1984 Sikh riots. More details are expected to arrive soon.
