Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files has been a topic of discussion these days, on one side the film was acclaimed and lauded while some have accused the film of being a work of historical revisionism. Amidst the rave reviews that the film has been declared tax-free in various parts of India like Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Haryana.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday showered praise on the film ‘The Kashmir Files’ and said that such movies should be made more often. Addressing the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) parliamentary meeting, PM Modi said that the film has shown the truth which was suppressed for years. Prime Minister said,” People who always raise the flag of freedom of expression are restless. Instead of reviewing facts, the campaign being run to discredit it...,”
He further added, “The film has shown the truth which has been suppressed for years. Truth should be brought in the right form before the country. The truth prevailed in Kashmir Files.”
The film has got a nod from PM Modi himself when director Vivek Agnihotri and actor Pallavi Joshi met him on Saturday. The PM had congratulated the team and appreciated the film.
