Vicky Kaushal told the media at the film's song presentation that content-driven movies are back at the top following a protracted slump brought on by the Covid-19 outbreak.
The actor said: “Agar koi 3 mahine pehle ye kehta ki ‘content-driven films are not working at the box-office’, toh main maan bhi leta (If three months back someone told me that content-driven films are not working at the box-office, I would have still believed them). But now, things have changed. The trend about content-driven films not working at the box-office has changed for good.”
Vicky Kaushal continued by citing recent instances of movies that are both content-driven and financially successful. "Look at 'Dream Girl 2', 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani', 'OMG 2' and 'Ghoomer'; these are all movies that have strong content and are bringing audiences back into theaters. I'm hoping that ‘The Great Indian Family,’ our movie, will also charm viewers and find favor with them”, he adds.
Manushi Chhillar, a former Miss World, Kumud Mishra, and Manoj Pahwa are also featured in the Yash Raj Films and Vijay Krishna Acharya-produced film ‘The Great Indian Family.’ On September 22, the movie will make its theatrical debut.
