Thank God, an upcoming movie starring Ajay Devgn has made an effort to avoid any potential controversy. The name of Ajay's character in the film, Chitragupt, has reportedly been changed to CG, while Yamdoot, his associate, has been given the moniker simply YD, according to reports. While submitting the movie for certification, the creators made this adjustment in addition to three others.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) issued a U/A certificate for the Friday release directed by Indra Kumar.

Sidharth Malhotra plays a man in the movie who has a near-death experience and must overcome all of his vices to obtain a second chance. Also featured is Rakul Preet Singh.

Using Chitragupta's name caused controversy once the initial teaser was made public.

The god of records and accounting in Hindu mythology is Chitragupta, as depicted in the movie. Now, though, it appears the creators have chosen to go in a safer direction. The Supreme Court has received a petition asking for a movie distribution delay. The case will now be heard on November 21 after the court recently declined to list it on urgent notice.

Additionally, three changes have been made.

One includes shifting the viewpoint of a temple picture, while the other involves blurring a liquor company's emblem in the frame. The third change concerns the language in the disclaimer that appears at the movie's start. To guarantee that viewers can see the release, the time it remains on screen has also been lengthened.

The movie Thank God is scheduled to open in theatres on October 25 in time for Diwali. The cinema and Ram Setu, an action-adventure film starring Akshay Kumar, will clash. According to trade sources, both movies' bookings got off to a strong start on Thursday, with Ram Setu currently holding a slim lead.
