Blurr, the next psychological thriller starring Taapsee Pannu, was introduced to fans on Wednesday. Taapsee shared the film's release date on Instagram along with the post. On December 9 of this year, ZEE5 will exclusively stream Taapsee's upcoming direct-to-digital movie.
In the movie's first glimpse poster, a scared-looking Taapsee faces the camera as another Taapsee emerges in front of her. The former Taapsee can be seen losing her vision as their faces become blurry. The actress is touted to play a double role. Taapsee posted the motion poster with the caption, “There’s always more than what meets the eye! #BlurrOnZEE5 premieres 9th December. #Blurr #ZEE5”
In Blurr, a lady is the main character, and the story revolves around her challenges and her will to overcome her tragedy. Gayatri, played by Taapsee, is the main character of this movie. She steadily loses her vision as she attempts to look into the death of her twin sister.
Zee Studios, Outsiders Films, and Echelon Productions contributed to the movie's production. The authors of Blurr are Ajay Bahl and Pawan Sony.
In a statement regarding the movie, Taapsee said: "Thrillers play a significant role in my filmography, and Blurr was one such story that kept me on the verge of my seat with its screenplay and the situations the protagonist was forced into throughout the movie. Therefore, when Vishal contacted me about this idea, I immediately responded, "yes."
She added, "Having shot about half the movie while wearing blindfolds, I am bringing home many memories and actual injuries, which has made me appreciate having clear eyesight even more. After section 375, working with Ajay sir was something I was truly looking forward to. With this one, I hope the OTT audience is prepared for some chills and thrills.
In addition to Blurr, Taapsee will feature in the upcoming movie Dunki by Rajkumar Hirani. In the movie, she will be paired with Shah Rukh Khan. The movie will hit the screens in December, 2023.
