Soorarai Pottru (Praise the Brave) depicts the story of a man who sets out to make the average man fly, and in the process, with the support of his family, friends, and sheer willpower, takes on the world's most capital-intensive industry.
Suriya and Aparna Balamurali starred in lead roles in Soorarai Pottru. Simplifly Deccan founder G. R. Gopinath's memoir Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey served as an inspiration for the film.
The Hindi adaptation of Soorarai Pottru will reportedly be set in North India. While there are rumours that the film will be titled Start-Up, the makers have yet to decide on a title.
