Actor Sunny Deol recently appeared on Karan Johar's renowned talk show, 'Koffee With Karan', alongside his brother Bobby Deol. During the show, the veteran actor talked about his blockbuster comeback film, 'Gadar 2', but didn't shy away from expressing his disappointment about the unexpected clash with Akshay Kumar's 'OMG 2'.
In a candid revelation, Sunny Deol disclosed that he reached out to Akshay Kumar personally, urging him to consider rescheduling the OMG 2 release date as Gadar 2 marked his long-awaited return to the silver screen. Sunny candidly said, “I haven’t had success for donkeys years. I didn’t want anybody to come along with it, but you can’t stop anybody. So obviously, it does hurt you. Then I was like, ‘it doesn’t matter let’s go along with it.’ But initially, when things were not working out for the longest time, I thought if nobody would release alongside your film then you would at least get theatres."

Recalling his conversation with Akshay Kumar, Sunny told, “I asked him, ‘please don’t do it if it’s in your hands,’ but he said no, the studio, and all that… and they said that anyway two films can release, so I said, okay, go ahead. I can just request; I can’t do anything more than that.”
On August 11, Sunny Deol's 'Gadar 2' clashed with Akshay Kumar's 'OMG 2'. Both were highly anticipated sequels of blockbuster films. Contrary to speculations, both movies defied odds and raked in impressive numbers. Gadar 2 soared past the 500 crore milestone, while the compelling duo of Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi in OMG 2 secured a notable Rs 140 crore.
