Three more Bollywood actresses have been named in the extortion case of conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar, after Jacqueline Fernandez and Nora Fatehi. Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Bhumi Pednekar have reportedly been tied to the case by the Enforcement Directorate's investigation. Inside Delhi's Tihar jail last year, the thief met a number of female models and actors posing as a business tycoon.
According to the agency, several of the stars and models were introduced to the fraudster by Pinky Irani, better known as Angel, 53, who accompanied some of them to visit Sukesh Chandrasekhar in jail. The agency had detained her in December of last year, and a Delhi court just granted her release.
The Enforcement Directorate has accused Irani of money laundering and of assisting Chandrasekhar in establishing contact with actress Jacqueline Fernandez and giving her costly gifts on his behalf.
Sukesh recently posted a handwritten statement in response to the emergence of multiple personal photos of actress Jacqueline Fernandez with him. He verified that they were in a relationship with no financial ties.
“It is really sad and disturbing to see private pictures being circulated, which I have got to know through news. It is complete violation of one's privacy and personal space. As I have mentioned before, Jacqueline and I were in a relationship. Seeing each other and the relationship was not based on any kind of monetary benefits like the way it is projected, commented and trolled in a bad light. The relationship had lots of love and respect for each other, without any expectations (sic),” read the note.
He added, “Kindly requesting everyone to stop projecting her in a wrong way as it is not easy on her, who has only loved without expecting anything. As I have mentioned before, she has no involvement in the ongoing money laundering case. (sic)” the conman wrote.
