SRK's 'Pathaan' all set for bumper opening; over 2 lakh tickets sold for day 1

Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film 'Pathaan' is one of the most awaited films of this year. Marking the return of the Bollywood megastar after a gap of almost four years, 'Pathaan' also features Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.

The songs and trailer of 'Pathaan' are already a hit with the audiences and the advance ticket booking for the film has also broken all the pre-existing records. As per latest reports, as many as 1,71,500 tickets of 'Pathaan' for day 1 have been sold.

Speaking precisely, 'Pathaan' sold 35,500 at Cinepolis, 60,500 tickets at INOX and a massive 75,000 tickets at PVR for the opening day shows.

As on Friday (January 20), Pathaan sold a bumper 2,01,000 tickets in advance booking. This includes, 41,000 tickets at Cinepolis, 73,000 tickets at INOX and 87,000 in PVR.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh has predicted a Rs 40 crore opening for 'Pathaan'

Trade pundits and box office experts have already predicted that 'Pathaan' will set the box office on fire. Taran Adarsh recently told a leading entertainment portal that Pathaan’s day 1 will be historic.

"It (Pathaan) is all set for a mammoth opening day. The day one numbers will be a shocker in a good sense...The kind of craze 'Pathaan' has generated, no film has managed to do so in the recent past."

"I am expecting a Rs. 40 crores plus day 1. It can go beyond that as well depending on the screen count and the number of shows,” he further added.

Directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Aditya Chopra under his production banner Yash Raj Films (YRF), 'Pathaan' is the fourth film in YRF Spy Universe (after 'Ek Tha Tiger', 'Tiger Zinda Hai' and 'War').

Also featuring Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan in cameos, 'Pathaan' is all set to hit theatres on 25 January 2023.
