Actress Priyanka Chopra shared her thoughts on the challenges faced by female-led films during a conversation with Bhumi Pednekar at the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2023. Priyanka emphasized the pressure associated with these films, stating that the underperformance of such projects feels like a setback for all women.
Reflecting on her own experiences, she recounted how she was advised against taking up the female-centric film 'Fashion' early in her career, suggesting that such roles were often reserved for later stages, particularly for National Awards.
Regarding the 2008 film 'Fashion', Priyanka highlighted the intense dedication and passion invested in the project, including an extensive six-month script development process and immersive character preparation. Directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, the movie also featured Kangana Ranaut and Mugdha Godse in leading roles, with positive feedback from both viewers and critics.
Beyond her notable work in 'Fashion', Priyanka's recent endeavors include the action-packed 'Citadel,' co-created by The Russo Brothers, where she played the role of Nadia Sinh, an elite agent alongside co-star Richard Madden. She is also set to appear in the upcoming movie 'Heads Of State,' directed by Ilya Naishuller, alongside renowned actors John Cena and Idris Elba.
