After launching Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra, and Varun Dhawan in Student of the Year (2012), filmmaker Karan Johar is now set to provide a big launchpad to three more newcomers - Shanaya Kapoor, Lakshya, and Gurfateh Pirzada. The trio will headline Shashank Khaitan’s Bedhadak, produced by Johar under Dharma Productions.
On Thursday, Johar introduced Lakshya by dropping his first look from the upcoming film. “Looks that will melt your heart just as easily as his smile will. Presenting Lakshya as Karan in Bedhadak. Directed by the maestro of emotions, Shashank Khaitan!” he wrote.
Johar introduced Shanaya Kapoor who will play the character of Nimrit in the film. The filmmaker wrote, “Introducing the gorgeous Shanaya Kapoor as Nimrit in Bedhadak. An enchanting force to look out for, I can’t wait to see the energy she brings onto the screen!”
He also introduced Gurfateh Pirzada and wrote, “His brooding good looks will have you smitten in no time! Watch Angad’s character come alive in Bedhadak with Gurfateh Pirzada bringing his effortless suave onto the big screen!”
The filmmaker also shared group posters, featuring all the three newcomers. Johar wrote, “We’re bringing to you a new era of love - one that’s filled with passion, intensity and boundaries that will be crossed…Bedhadak! Starring our latest addition to the Dharma Family - Lakshya, Shanaya Kapoor & Gurfateh Pirzada! Directed by the exceptional Shashank Khaitan.”
Shashank Khaitan has previously directed Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014), Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017), and Dhadak (2018) for Dharma Productions. Bedhadak marks his fourth collaboration with the prestigious banner.
