Celebrity kids have long been in the public eye, but it has only been recently that they have come under heavy criticism. Fans are voicing their objections to nepotism by avoiding the films of star kids as part of the ongoing "boycott trend," in which people look for excuses to avoid Bollywood.
Shakti Kapoor, whose daughter Shraddha Kapoor has also chosen to enter the film industry, recently defended the star kids on a dancing reality show by claiming they work hard to get popularity and do not receive things easily because they are star kids.
Kapoor and Chunky Panday were asked to serve as guest judges in a DID Super Moms 3 comedy special episode. While applauding one of the competitors for her performance, Kapoor cited Ananya Panday and his daughter Shraddha Kapoor as examples and stated that their fame is a result of their hardwork and dedication.
He was quoted saying, “I must say if you don’t work hard in your life, then you can’t become an inspiration for others. In fact, our daughters - Ananya and Shraddha, have become popular faces in the film industry all because of their hard work and struggle. It is not because they are daughters of Chunky Panday and Shakti Kapoor respectively.”
On the work front, Shraddha Kapoor will be next seen in Luv Ranjan's untitled film alongside Ranbir Kapoor. Ananya Panday will be next seen in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan.
