Following the failure of Ranveer Singh's 83 (2021), Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur starrer Jersey was the first film to be pushed ahead following the Omicron concern last year. Fans have been waiting for the film's release since then, and it will eventually be released on April 14, during the Baisakhi weekend. The makers of the film have unveiled a new trailer as the film approaches its release date.
Jersey is set to clash against Kannada sensation Yash's K.G.F: Chapter 2 and Tamil superstar Vijay's Beast at the box office. The cast recently opened up about their film being the underdog in comparison to K.G.F: Chapter 2 and Beast during the movie's trailer launch.
Shahid Kapoor was asked about the major box office clash in a recent interview with a news portal. Is the actor concerned about the box office conflict? Shahid responded by saying, "The fact that we're releasing means that we feel it's a good time to release. Otherwise we wouldn't have. The fact that they are releasing, feels a good time for them. So, I guess, if you put the two things together there is enough space for different movies."
Shahid admitted that he loves Vijay from the south and wished Yash success for KGF 2. The Jab We Met (2007) actor continued, "I'm a huge Vijay star (fan) and I love his movies. He's a great dancer and I have a soft spot for good dancing..I'm sure Beast is going to be a fantastic film but that is slightly for a different market. I don't think there's that much overlapping happening there."
He added about Yash’s KGF, "KGF 2 is a sequel to a film that people have really loved. So wishing Rocky Bhai all the best. It's different genre, a big action, edgy kind of film and ours is an emotional sports film with family and a message.”
