To ignite the internet, the International Cricket Council (ICC) published a picture of Bollywood celebrity Shah Rukh Khan holding the ODI World Cup trophy. Having already begun the trophy tour last month, the BCCI is prepared to host the massive ICC competition later this year. Shahrukh can be seen gazing intently at the prized trophy in a shot posted on Twitter by the ICC on Wednesday.
Over 10,000 people liked the picture in only 30 minutes after it went popular on Twitter. Over 1,50,000 people liked the same photo on Instagram in the same period of time.
Shahrukh frequently mentions how much he enjoys playing cricket, and he even owns the Kolkata Knight Riders, an IPL cricket team. Additionally, he owns teams in the Caribbean Premier League, Major League Cricket, and the ILT20 League in the UAE.
SRK has previously been spotted cheering for the Indian cricket team from the stands, with the 2007 T20 World Cup Final standing out.
On September 4, the trophy will return to India and the tour will come to an end.
The 2023 ODI World Cup will start on October 5 and end on November 19 with the championship match. India will strive to win the cup on home soil, and the opening and closing matches will be played at the spectacular Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The curtain-raiser will feature England and New Zealand, the 2019 showpiece event's finalists, while India's campaign gets underway on October 8 against Australia.
The prestigious India vs. Pakistan match will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium on October 15.
