Bengali actor Saswata Chatterjee, best known to the Hindi film audiences as Bob Biswas from Kahaani (2012), is one of the most versatile actors in the business today. He enjoys immense popularity in Bollywood too and is a very sought-after character actor.
However, the actor is very picky when it comes to films and has so far refrained from taking up offers left right, and center. Furthermore, his work commitments in Kolkata do not let him take up offers in Mumbai.
But as per latest update, Saswata is all set to play a homosexual in an upcoming big-ticket Hindi film. The Meghe Dhake Tara (2013) actor features in a major role in the official Hindi remake of The Night Manager.
Confirming his association with the project, Saswata said, “Yes, I am playing an interesting role in the project. My character is a gay person who with the help of his sexuality brings out the truth."
"I am sharing the screen with the finest actors like Anil Kapoor, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Aditya Roy Kapoor among others. We have already shot in Sri Lanka, Shimla, and Rajasthan and it has been a fun-filled ride,” added the 51-year-old actor.
On the professional front, Saswata was last seen on screen as Kangana Ranaut's mentor in Dhaakad, which was a box office disaster. His future outings include Raj Kumar Santoshi's Bad Boy and Anurag Kashyap’s Dobaaraa. Further, he'll also feature in a pivotal role in Deepika Padukone and Prabhas starrer Project K.
