In his eagerly anticipated movie Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir Khan is all set to play a Sikh man. However, the actor's Punjabi accent in the film's trailer attracted criticism, with many Twitter users commenting that it "sounded quite artificial."

Recently, Punjabi actress Sargun Mehta, recently reacted to Aamir Khan's Punjabi accent in the movie. Sargun complimented Aamir for his versatility in movies, but she also said that he "could've done better" with the Punjabi accent.

In a recent interview, when asked about Khan's accent in Laal Singh Chaddha, the Balika Vadhu (2008) actress responded, "If Aamir Khan would have said in pure Punjabi, nobody could have understood. If the superstar next does a Bengali film and uses too many Bengali words, then we’ll not be able to understand it.”

“Aamir sir is not a Punjabi and he has taken up a role. Actors are supposed to take versatile roles. I can say that he could have done a bit better but jitna bhi unhone kiya hain bahut kaam and mehnat lagti hain sirf utna karne mein bhi (Whatever he has done in the film, it takes a lot to get the results. He has worked really hard),” she added.

Laal Singh Chaddha is an official Hindi remake of Robert Zemeckis' Oscar-winning 1994 film Forrest Gump, which starred Tom Hanks as the titular character. Lal Singh Chaddha is slated to release on 11th August.
