This year, Ranbir Kapoor will release two of his most anticipated movies, with Shamshera serving as the first in a four-year break. Sanju is where we last saw Kapoor (2018). His acting skills and commitment won over the public. Ranbir played Sanjay Dutt in Rajkumar Hirani's film, and even after the movie, Sanju still had an influence on him.

Ranbir recently acknowledged during the promotion for Shamshera that the movie Sanju had an impact on him and that it took him some time to get over it. He said, "I never took a character home. Though after I finished Sanju... it took me time to get over the Sanjay Dutt hangover. This is because my eyes became like him, I started smiling like him, and I started walking like him. So that took a little time, but other than that, no other film."

In the 2018 film Sanju, Ranbir played the role of Sanjay Dutt. The film was directed by Rajkumar Hirani.

Meanwhile, Shamshera is a historical action movie that also stars Sanjay Dutt in a crucial role. Shamshera portrays a warrior tribe that an author, Ari general Shudh Singh, imprisons and tortures in the Karan Malhotra-directed film. Ranbir will be shown fighting for the freedom of his clan.
