Sameer Khakhar, a veteran actor best known for appearing in TV dramas such as ‘Nukkad’, died on Wednesday, as reported by his brother Ganesh Khakhar. Sameer, who appeared in Salman Khan's film Jai Ho, died of multiple organ failure. According to reports, Sameer also had respiratory and urinary difficulties.
Sameer Khakhar died at the MM Hospital in Mumbai's Borivali, where he had been admitted, according to the report. Sameer's funeral will reportedly take place on Wednesday morning at the Babhai naka cremation in Borivali.
Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, who worked with the actor on his last role, remembered him and shared their memories of him from the sets of Farzi. The makers wrote, “Khopdi from Nukkad had made such an impact on us as kids! He was different and quirky. He was inebriated, but always spoke the truth. Then decades later we read his interview, where he mentioned how he longed to get back in front of the camera. And we jumped to get him to do a cameo in Farzi. We were lucky to have worked with this maverick actor, even if for one day! May his soul rest in peace!”

The veteran appeared in the drama series alongside Shahid Kapoor. ‘Farzi’ portrays an artist named Sunny (Shahid) who resorts to forging money in order to rescue his grandfather's printing factory.
