December 2023 is going to be a packed month for moviegoers in India, with several big-budget releases lined up, including 'Animal', 'Sam Bahadur', 'Merry Christmas,' 'Salaar,' and 'Dunki.' However, the fact that all of these films are releasing in the same month has led to some concerns among trade experts, who believe that it will be difficult for all of them to do well at the box office.

Vicky Kaushal, who is starring as Sam Manekshaw in the biopic Sam Bahadur, has spoken out about the clash with Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal,' saying that people should not make a hue and cry about it.

"We should not make a hue and cry about clashes. On every Friday, a film is handed over to its audience. It depends on them. If they want to watch a film, they will. If they don't want to watch a film, they won't," Kaushal said in an interview.

"I am as excited for Animal as anybody else. As long as it is great for the audience. We work for them," he said.

Kaushal's comments echo those of his producer, Ronnie Screwvala, who has said that multiple films releasing on the same day can benefit the industry in the long run.

"We have those many weeks in a year, but as an industry, we cannot limit ourselves to making those many films in a year. We will have to make multiple films and we will have multiple releases on the same day," Screwvala said at a press conference for 'Sam Bahadur.'

India has a huge audience and a large number of screens, so there is enough space for multiple films to do well, Kaushal said.

"Audiences will undoubtedly watch two films in a week if both of them are good," he said.

It remains to be seen whether all of the films releasing in December 2023 will be able to do well at the box office. However, Kaushal's comments suggest that the industry is moving towards a model where multiple films releasing on the same day is the norm.
