Salman Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala have reunited for their next project Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali. The film has been announced for a long time, and now it is finally all set to go on floors in March 2022.
Farhad Samji will direct the film, which will be Nadiadwala and Khan’s seventh collaboration. They have previously done films like Kick (2014), Jeet (1996), Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), and so on. In the upcoming film, Pooja Hegde will play the female protagonist opposite Salman Khan, while Venkatesh Daggubati, the Telugu star, will make his Bollywood comeback after 27 years of Taqdeerwala, with the Salman Khan-starrer.
Because of the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, movies have a 4-week theatrical window before they are available on OTT platforms. However, the industry is expected to return to the old 8-week window in the second half of 2022. If the Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali deal is locked in at ₹150 crores, it will be the largest non-theatrical deal ever with a conventional window
According to a source, "Prior to the pandemic, Salman Khan had fetched ₹130 crores for the satellite and digital rights of Bharat (2019, which was the highest ever of all time. Dabangg 3 (2019) was also in the similar range due to Salman's deal with Amazon & ZEE. In pandemic, the game changed as the digital window came down to just 4 weeks and Sooryavanshi (2021) fetched nearly 140 crores for its post-release streaming. And now, it seems that another Salman film is set to ink the biggest post-release streaming deal with an 8-week window for the digital premiere. Sajid Nadiadwala has received offers in the range of ₹150 crores for the satellite and digital rights of Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali and is in conversations with multiple streaming platforms.”
Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali is set to be released on the occasion of Eid 2023.
