The trailer of the Adivi Shesh starrer multilingual film Major will be released today (May 9) at 4:59 pm (IST). For the launch, three of the biggest superstars from three different film industries have been roped in.
As per reports, Salman Khan, Mahesh Babu, and Prithviraj Sukumaran will be launching the teaser of Major in Hindi, Telugu, and Malayalam respectively.
The film portrays the inspiring life of army officer Sandeep Unnikrishnan and pays a tribute to his bravery and valour during the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
While Salman Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran would unveil the trailer of Major in Hindi and Malayalam on their respective social media handles, Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu would launch the trailer at a mega event in Hyderabad city.
Directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka and produced by Sony Pictures International Productions, G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment, and A+S Movies, Major was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi languages. It is based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, an army officer who was killed in the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
Adivi Sesh (in his Hindi film debut) portrays Major Sandeep, the title character, in addition to writing the script.
Made on a budget of Rs 100 crore, Major was shot in 120 days and was filmed in over 75 locations. The original release date was 2 July 2021 but the film was postponed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The film is now scheduled to be released worldwide on 3 June 2022 in Telugu and Hindi languages, along with the dubbed version in Malayalam.
