The country's anti-drugs agency charged actress Rhea Chakraborty on Wednesday with procuring drugs for her deceased actor boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput. In the well-known case, she and 34 other people are charged in a chargesheet submitted by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

According to the draft allegations, between March 2020 and December same year, all the defendants engaged in a criminal conspiracy with one another or in groups in order to obtain, buy, sell, and distribute drugs to "high society and Bollywood." The document further claimed that the accused had supported drug trafficking and used illegally obtained marijuana, charas, cocaine, and other narcotics and psychoactive substances inside the Mumbai Metropolitan area.

In the drafted accusations, it was stated that "Rhea Chakroborty received multiple ganja deliveries from accused Samuel Miranda, Showik, Dipesh Sawant and others and passed such deliveries to the late star Sushant Singh Rajput." Between March 2020 and September of that same year, at the request of Showik and the late actor, she made payments for those supplies, it said.

If Rhea Chakraborty is found guilty, she could serve more than ten years behind bars.

After actor Sushant Singh, 34, was found dead in his flat in the suburban Bandra on June 14, 2020, the NCB launched an investigation into drug use in Bollywood and the television industry.

His death, which the police claimed to be a suicide, is being looked at by the CBI.
