After a theatrical release in December, the film is now set to be released on digital platforms. It'll be available on two distinct streaming platforms, and there's a purpose for that.
83 will be available on Netflix India and Disney+ Hotstar at the same time, according to a daily. While the Hindi rights to the film have been acquired by Netflix India, the film will be available on Disney+ Hotstar in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Raajkamal Films International, Kamal Haasan's company, and Akkineni Nagarjuna's Annapurna Studios teamed up with Reliance Entertainment to release the Tamil and Telugu versions of the film, respectively. The film was released in Malayalam and Kannada by Prithviraj's production and Kichcha Sudeepa's Shalini Arts. The film will be released later this month, on either February 18 or February 25.
According to Box Office India, the movie collected around ₹14 crore on the first day of its release, scoring well in Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Pune, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
