Season 7 of Koffee With Karan debuted on Thursday, 7th July. Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt sat on the Koffee couch for the debut episode of the celebrity talk show hosted by Karan Johar. The actors are currently working on Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which will be directed by Karan. They were last seen together in the 2019 film Gully Boy.
The two actors discussed their friendship, their marriages to their respective partners, and their experiences during the pandemic during the past two years. During one of the games, Ranveer also revealed that Bombay Velvet (2015) ‘unceremoniously dropped’ him. Actor Ranbir Kapoor, who starred alongside Anushka Sharma in the 2015 movie, was ultimately cast in the lead role.
Then, Ranveer made it clear that he had "not been rejected," but rather "unceremoniously dropped." At the time, according to Ranveer, his "star value wasn't high." Vicky Kaushal and Karan, both starred in the film Bombay Velvet, which was a box office disaster.
The 83 (2021) actor was quoted saying, “I was not rejected, K (Karan Johar). I was unceremoniously dropped because at the time I couldn’t justify the budget. My star value wasn’t high. But things have changed.”
On the work front, Ranveer Singh will be next seen in Cirkus directed by Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.
