Ranveer Singh has now confirmed the sequel to his 2018 blockbuster Simmba. Speaking to a news portal, Singh said, "Simmba was always intended to be a franchise and I am always ready to play my favourite character again for the sequel."
Released in 2018, Simmba is the third movie in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe. The first two are Singham (2011) and Singham Returns (2014), and in 2021, the fourth film, Sooryavanshi, also released.
Simmba is the remake of the Tamil film Temper (2015), starring Jr. NTR. Simmba stars Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan, and Sonu Sood, with a cameo by Ajay Devgn, who reprised his role from Rohit’s Singham series. The film collected over ₹400 crore worldwide.
According to Ranveer Singh, the second part of the film is in the pipeline. In the film, Ranveer played the role of a corrupt cop who later regrets his actions and sets out on the path of justice.
Ranveer Singh is currently basking in glory after he got accolades for his performance in the film 83 (2021). The ace actor has previously given various remarkable and critically acclaimed performances since his debut in the 2010 film Band Baaja Baaraat.
