One of the most adored and admired performers in the Indian film industry, Akshay Kumar is renowned for his work ethic and dedication. Ensuring that his run of flicks on the big screen is continued, superstar Akshay Kumar is back with his new film. The family drama, directed by Aanand L Rai and starring Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar, is named Raksha Bandhan. The film which is set to hit theatres this week is being heavily promoted by the actor. Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Smrithi Srikanth, and Sadia Khateeb play Akshay’s on-screen sisters. The movie also features a love tale even though it centers on the unbreakable bond between a brother and his sisters. In the movie, Bhumi portrays Akshay's interest.
In a recent post, Akshay expressed that his admiration for Bhumi has grown as a result of her decision to participate in a film that focuses mostly on the sisters and lacks a clear-core female lead. Akshay took to Twitter and wrote in his heartfelt note, “Starry tantrums, what starry tantrums? Yahaan khud hi fan ban na padta hai… Jokes aside, this is an appreciation post for my friend and co-star bhumipednekar, to agree to do a film which is titled #RakshaBandhan which features 4 sisters. It speaks volumes about her security as an actor. Watch our story unfold in 2 days. Book your tickets now.”
My appreciation and respect for my friend and co-star bhumipednekar has gone up so much. Takes a very secure actor to agree to do a film titled #RakshaBandhan that features 4 sisters. Watch our story unfold in 2 days. Book your tickets now. #RakshaBandhan11August pic.twitter.com/3KDHZwUomE
