Pan-India star Prabhas, who was last seen in Saaho (2019), is currently waiting for the release of his much-anticipated film Radhe Shyam. The film, which also stars Pooja Hegde in the lead role, was originally slated to release in 2021. However, the coronavirus pandemic played a spoilsport and its release got pushed several times over the past year.
Talking to a publication, Prabhas revealed that numerous delays ended up increasing the budget of his forthcoming film Radhe Shyam. “We always thought we would finish the film at ₹150 crore. But due to delays, the budget increased to ₹300 crore. Moreover, the producers did not want to compromise on the portions where we were shot on a ship. I feel the box office pressure and it’s very stressful,” he said.
The actor, who is currently working on around 5 pan-India films, added that he wishes to headline a comedy film mounted on a small scale.
“I am already planning a comedy film which is not mounted on a huge scale. I do not always want to do big films. I do not want the audience to think that every film Prabhas is coming out with is a big one. I might also do a small love story for which I may not even take any remuneration,” the 42-year-old actor signed off.
Directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, Radhe Shyam is set to release on March 11, 2022.
