Currently, South star Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday are busy attending back-to-back promotional events for their upcoming sports drama Liger. The team is doing everything possible to promote his upcoming movie. Vijay makes his Bollywood debut with the film as well. But did you know that Karan Johar offered the actor a role in a Bollywood movie before? You did read that right.

On Monday, August 15, the Arjun Reddy (2017) actor went to Hyderabad and held a press conference there. He revealed how he got his first Bollywood film during the conversation and talked openly about the moment Karan had approached him about a project.

He admitted that he was "not ready" when KJo offered him a role in a Bollywood movie at the time. He stated,"After watching Arjun Reddy, Karan Johar offered me to do a Bollywood film, then I was not ready, and now, we approached Liger as it has the pan-India appeal. He supported us well in every aspect."

Speaking of Liger, Vijay portrays an MMA fighter who struggles with stammering, while Ananya Panday plays his love interest.The film, directed by Puri Jagannath and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, was simultaneously shot in Telugu and Hindi. The film is slated to release on August 25.
