Alia Bhatt has been receiving overwhelming response for her sterling performance in her latest release Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022). The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial, which hit the marquee on February 25, has not only impressed critics and audiences, it has also been doing tremendously well at the ticket window and has already crossed the coveted ₹100 crore mark.
Alia Bhatt’s elder sister Pooja Bhatt saw the first-day first show of the film in a multiplex and felt really proud and happy when she heard people whistling and clapping in the theatre.
Talking to a news channel, she said, “Usually, you don’t expect multiplex audiences to whistle and shout, but while watching Gangubai (Kathiawadi, I heard whistles, screams, yelling in the theatre.”
The actress went on to add that the film proved that Alia has “hit the mark and how” and added that “Alia was a girl, and now, she is a woman and she is dazzling.”
Alia Bhatt currently has several films in the pipeline. She is presently waiting for the release of her much-awaited film RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli. She will then be seen in Darlings, which also marks her debut as a producer. She headlines Karan Johar’s directorial Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani with Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan. The actress has also teamed up with Farhan Akhtar to feature in his next directorial Jee Le Zaraa, alongside Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra.
