According to Akshay Kumar, movies shouldn't be taken too seriously. A Pakistani man questioned the actor about how his nation was portrayed in his 2021 film Bell Bottom. The actor had previously attended Saudi Arabia's Red Sea International Film Festival.

According to reports, the 1980s Indian hijacking incidents served as the inspiration for the Ranjit Tewari film. Akshay portrayed a RAW agent in the film.

AKSHAY KUMAR AT THE FESTIVAL STATED:

An actor at the festival was having a chat with a Pakistani man, who reportedly said to him: “I’m from Pakistan, your neighbor country. I have a request. You do excellent films like Pad Man and Toilet. There is a problem between Pakistan and India as well. Certain aspects of your most recent film, Bell Bottom, are against Pakistan.

Akshay responded, "Sir, it's just a movie. Don't take things so seriously. Just a movie, really. There are numerous instances of that. Sir, it's only a movie.

The first movie to reopen in multiplexes in 2021 was Bell Bottom, which also starred Vaani Kapoor, Lara Dutta, and Huma Qureshi in a cameo. COVID had forced the closure of theatres for six months. At the cinemas, the movie failed.

Akshay also expressed his gratitude to the audience for their continued support and acceptance of him in various genres, from comedies to social dramas, during the festival.

"I'm appreciative of the audience's willingness to embrace various characters, whether they were in Airlift, Singh is King, Padman, or Toilet Ek Prem Katha. I've finished between 140 and 150 movies at this point," he claimed.
