The ban on Pakistani artists in India was initially enforced by the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) after the URI attack in 2016. However, the recent decision from the Bombay High Court signifies a positive shift, allowing Pakistani artists like Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, Saba Qamar, and Sajal Aly to work in Indian movies and web series once again.
Notably, renowned Pakistani artists have previously contributed to Bollywood, including Mahira Khan in 'Raees,' Fawad Khan in 'Khoobsurat' and 'Kapoor & Sons,' Saba Qamar in 'Hindi Medium,' and Sajal Aly in 'Mom' alongside Sridevi. Additionally, the decision paves the way for continued collaborations between Indian and Pakistani musicians.
