Ameesha Patel is currently basking in all the positive limelight she is receiving after the success of her movie ‘Gadar 2’. She plays the role of Sakina, Tara Singh’s love interest. The film is a superhit at the box office, collecting over Rs 400 crores despite being released after two decades from the first movie ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’.

Now, the actress has recently spoken in an interview about the failure of her 2002 film ‘Yeh Hain Jalwa’ with Salman Khan. She believes that the main reason behind the failure was because of the negative attention towards Salman Khan for his infamous hit- and- run case.

Patel believes that the film’s story line and direction was one of the best in the market but it could not overcome the controversy surrounding Salman.

She speaks, "Yeh Hai Jalwa was one of David Dhawan's best films. Salman has never looked more handsome and the music and everything was good. But I think because earlier the media gave news the audiences were not so open about accepting some negative news about their favourite actors. Salman's accident had newly happened so Yeh Hai Jalwa got sidelined. Had the audience been open to it…that is one film that would have done really well.”
