Salman Khan and Govinda were a great duo, and their bromance peaked with David Dhawan's ‘Partner’. The actors, however, suffered greatly as a result of a violated promise. According to rumours, Bhai planned to use his film ‘Dabangg’ to introduce Chi Chi's daughter Narmada (Tina) Ahuja. Sonakshi Sinha, the daughter of Shatrughan Sinha, was his choice for the role.

The co-star of Salman's film ‘Partner’ took offense to this and went on to disparage Salman in the media. He never stated explicitly in any of these statements, though, that his daughter will be making her acting debut in ‘Dabangg’. But he made sure that his jabs may harm his pal and fellow co-star.

Govinda discussed Salman Khan's support in an interview with Times Of India and said, “When I quit politics, he had supported me, and for that, I thank him. But in any case, one should not expect so much from another person that it burdens them professionally.”

He further stated that he regretted leaving the Salman Khan camp since it hurt his career. In an interview with PTI, the actor from ‘Bhagam Bhag’ stated, “There was no chance of me staying in Salman’s camp. I was praised in such a manner that Salman was told you shouldn’t come in front of Govinda…Because he has been told so much about me that there will not be a chance of us acting again together. There are massive camps in Bollywood. I never belonged to any camps, but I think it was a wrong move. I should have had. It affects your career. It’s one big family.”

He also referred to the ‘Judwaa’ actor as a businessman, which was likely another jab at Bhai for passing on Chi Chi's daughter Tina Ahuja for the role of ‘Dabangg’. Governor said: “One actor will love another actor only to the extent to which his own business remains unaffected… Today, however, I don’t have any expectations from Salman.”

The ‘Hero No. 1’ actor recalls how Salman stole the role of ‘Judwaa’ from him in another interview. When the Tiger actor called Govinda during ‘Judwaa’ filming, he stated, “Chi chi bhaiya aap kitni hit doge yaar. Wo jo aap picture kar rahe ho Judwaa, wo aap band kar dijiye aur wo mujhe de dijiye. Director bhi aapko mujhe dena padega. Producer bhi maine aap hi ka le liya hai” as the entertainment portal reported.

Salman Khan and Govinda were the ideal casting choices for ‘Partner’. A sequel to the movie, which also starred Katrina Kaif and Lara Dutta, was anticipated. After the aftermath, the rumours, however, slowly disappeared.
