Nora Fatehi and Jacqueline Fernandez faced negative publicity when they were interrogated by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with Sukesh Chandrasekhar's case. Following this, Nora Fatehi decided to sue Jacqueline Fernandez and certain media organizations for tarnishing her reputation with false narratives. She expressed her grievances in Patiala House Court, stating that she has been unjustly labeled as a gold digger and accused of having a relationship with the con artist.

She said in the statement, "This has caused me a loss of financial gain and reputation. The reason why I have filed this case is because of the ongoing ED case against Sukesh who was accused of conning a sum of ₹ 200 crore that I have nothing to do with and neither do I know anything."
Nora Fatehi firmly believes that she has been made a scapegoat in this case, and as a result, she demanded compensation for the damage caused to her reputation and career. She said, "I feel that I have been used as a scapegoat in this case in the media to safeguard certain people and because I am an outsider and I have been taken as a soft target and I want compensation for all the damages caused to my career," as reported by NDTV.com. Jacqueline Fernandez is yet to respond to Nora's statement recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
It's worth noting that Sukesh Chandrasekhar has been arrested in a total of three cases, the most recent being in February 2023 for a Rs 4 crore extortion case involving ex-Religare promoter Malvinder Singh's wife, Japna Singh. Reports of Sukesh's alleged connection with Jacqueline Fernandez surfaced after his initial arrest.
