Nimrat Kaur is currently enjoying the success of her most recent film, Dasvi (2022), which also stars Abhishek Bachchan and Yami Gautam. In the film, the actress played Bimla Devi, the wife of Abhishek Chaudhary's character Ganga Ram Chaudhary. The film marks seven years since she had worked on a Bollywood project.
Nimrat now talks about her absence from Bollywood in an interview, saying, "I haven't consciously stayed away from Bollywood films. I genuinely wanted to work on more projects."
When asked about the possibility of being forgotten by the Indian audience due to her absence, Nimrat Kaur replied,"I've enough faith and belief that whichever project I take up in any part of the world, no matter how much time it takes, there will always be a space in the audience's mind for me. I hear things like 'they want to see more of me', and that's very encouraging. It's the 'absence makes the heart grow fonder' kind of thing."
Nimrat Kaur expressed her regret for not spending more time in Bollywood, saying, "I wish I could have chased my last Hindi project way quicker with a new project. But that's something you can't control, especially me, because I work abroad, too. Straight after Airlift, I went abroad to do a television show called Wayward Pines, which took six months."
Nimrat Kaur also starred in Akshay Kumar's Airlift in 2016. Nimrat did a Hindi web series called The Test Case during this seven-year break. When it comes to being picky, she says there are a lot of things you can't control. Nimrat Kaur admits that she doesn't worry about things she doesn't have control over because it's in her nature.
