TUDUM! Well, the wait is finally over. At a celebration in Mumbai for its 25th birthday, Netflix unveiled its lineup of upcoming movies and shows for the year. The streaming major has prestigious titles in its arsenal including The Archies, Qala, Chakda Xpress, Khufiya, Jogi, Kathal and the Hindi adaptation of The Devotion of Suspect X. Netflix just delivered the renowned series Delhi Crime Season 2 and the smash hit movie Darlings.
Some of the projects are still being filmed, and others are finished, according to the most recent announcement. The platform has not yet made the release dates for each project public.
These are the projects that the streaming service has so far announced.
The Archies
Tiger Baby is the producer and Zoya Akhtar is the director of this adaptation. The drama series Archies is based in the made-up town of Riverdale and is set in a 1960s Anglo-Indian community. Agastya Nanda, the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan, Suhana Khan, the daughter of Shah Rukh Khan, and Khushi Kapoor, the daughter of Sridevi, all make their acting debuts in The Archies.
Chakda Xpress
This film will mark Anushka Sharma’s comeback after 4 years. Chakda Xpress is based on the life of former Indian Captain and fast bowler Jhulan Goswami.
Khufiya
Tabu and Ali Fazal are the main characters in Vishal Bhardwaj's spy thriller Khufiya. According to reports, the project is reportedly Bhardwaj’s passion project.
Qala
Irrfan Khan's son Babil Khan makes his acting debut with this film which is directed by Anvitaa Dutt. The film also stars Tripti Dimri and Swastika Mukherjee.
Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga
Sunny Kaushal and Yami Gautam will star in the movie. It is a suspense thriller that Amar Kaushik is credited with producing.
