Neetu Kapoor remembers late husband Rishi Kapoor on his death anniversary; says the loss was painful

It's been two years since the tragic death of legendary actor Rishi Kapoor, and his void remains in the hearts of his near and dear ones, fans, and friends. On the second anniversary of his death, his wife Neetu Kapoor and daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni posted emotional tributes to him on social media. Neetu, a judge on a dance reality show, shared a video of herself feeling sad on stage as she recalled her 45-year partner. She described losing him as "difficult and painful."

Neetu Kapoor posted a video clip on Instagram of Rishi Kapoor and wrote “Today is two years since rishi ji left us… loosing a partner of 45 years was difficult n painful at that time the only way to heal my heart was to keep myself mentally occupied. Movie n television helped me achieve that Rishiji will always be remembered n will stay in everyone’s heart forever.”

Riddhima, on the other hand, posted an endearing childhood photo with her Papa as she remembered him on the second anniversary of his death. A young Rishi Kapoor can be seen in the childhood photo carrying his baby girl Riddhima in his arms. Riddhima captioned the photo with one word, 'Papa,' and a heart.

In several interviews, Neetu Kapoor has stated that after the death of her father, late Rishi Kapoor, her children Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima urged her to return to work. She stated that they gave her the strength to return to the sets and work after Rishi Kapoor died.

For those who are unaware, Rishi Kapoor has been battling cancer for over two years and received treatment in New York. He returned to India in 2019 and resumed his work. His condition worsened in 2020, and he died on April 29, 2020. Sharmaji Namkeen, his final film, was launched on Amazon Prime Video on March 31.
