Kajol has constantly pushed the film industry's preconceived beauty standards. The actress, who is preparing for her web series 'The Trail: Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhokha,' recently discussed the external pressure on actresses to undergo cosmetic surgery.

According to Kajol, Plastic surgery should always be a "personal choice." The actress also addressed accusations that her daughter, Nysa Devgn, had cosmetic surgery.

When asked what advice she would provide to young female actors, Kajol responded, “God has made you in a particular way, and for what God has not made the way you wanted, there’s always make-up!”

Kajol further stated that having surgery should always be a "personal choice" rather than a result of external pressure.

She mentioned, “It should be a personal choice, you shouldn’t do it because 25 people have told you to do it.”

In the early years of her career, Kajol had to deal with disparaging comments regarding her beauty.

She said, “I was way more intelligent than all these people who were commenting on me. I know I am cool. So maybe I was doing something right in the whole baggage of things that they put on me.”

Nysa Devgan, Kajol and Ajay Devgan's daughter, was viciously harassed after suspicions of her receiving cosmetic surgery circulated on the internet. In response to the news, Kajol stated that it was due to Nysa's healthy diet and skincare programme.

Fans were stunned by Kajol's performance in Netflix's 'Lust Stories 2.' Her next appearance will be in the Disney+Hotsar web series 'The Trial: Pyaar Kanoon Dhoka.' Kajol will also work with Kriti Sanon on 'Do Patti,' which will be produced by Kriti's newly founded production company, Blue Butterfly Films.
