Divyenndu Sharma is best known for his roles of Nishant aka Liquid in Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Munna Bhaiya in the Amazon Prime Video series Mirzapur, Narayan Sharma in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, and Sundar Tripathi in the film Batti Gul Meter Chalu. The actor who rose to fame because of his character Munna Bhaiya in Mirzapur recently spoke out in an interview about working with untalented actors in the business and remembered a Bollywood star who, in his opinion, lacked acting skills.

He spoke about the actor saying, “Honestly, I never felt envious, I just wondered why that person was successful. I was very secure about where I was and I was holding my ground. You can look into a person’s eyes and understand that they are not into it. When an actor is not completely into a character it reflects in their eyes. So looking at this person, I realized that luck is an important factor.”

When questioned about whether he believes coming from a film family would have made it easier for him to succeed in the industry, he responded, “There are no two ways about it. If I had it, it would obviously come with advantages. But it also has its own set of disadvantages as well. One is always under the scanner and people are always watching you. The debate here is not about preferences, it is about merit. If you see someone who deserves to be there, say, Ranbir Kapoor, one would never feel bad to watch him. But at the same time, if someone with a surname of his/her family is there on the screen, then you would feel that someone who knows how to act should have been there.”

Divyenndu last appeared in the web series Salt City. He will next feature in Brahmastra which is set to hit theatres on July 9.
