Bollywood is expected to see significant box office competition in the second half of 2023. On the same days as other much awaited blockbusters, a fierce competition at the box office is predicted. On August 11, three films will be released, including 'OMG 2,' starring Akshay Kumar, 'Gadar 2,' the follow-up to Sunny Deol's classic movie, and 'Animal,' the upcoming action movie from Ranbir Kapoor. Merry Christmas is scheduled to be released with Sidharth Malhotra's 'Yodha,' which would increase the competition.

The anticipated thriller 'Merry Christmas' recently received an update about its release date. The movie's December 15 release date has been moved up from its original December 23 date. The film, which was directed by Sriram Raghavan, features Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif in the key roles. Additionally, Sanjay Kapoor, Radhika Apte, Tinnu Anand, Aditi Govitrikar, and Vinay Pathak play significant roles in the ensemble cast.

Notably, acclaimed producer and director Karan Johar expressed his displeasure with the fights in a post on his Threads account. He criticised the lack of communication between producers and studios, arguing that cooperation is essential for the theatre sector to survive during trying times. Johar's remarks appeared to be aimed at the co-producers of 'Merry Christmas,' Sriram Raghavan and Ramesh Taurani. Johar's statement, however, was not well received by some fans, who cited occasions in the past in which his films had conflicted with those of others.

It's important to note that Dharma Productions, Karan Johar's production company, had originally set December 15 as the release date for 'Yodha.' Sidharth Malhotra plays the protagonist role in the movie, which was directed by Pushkar Ojha and Sagar Ambre, with Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna playing important supporting roles.
