Abhishek Bachchan-starrer Bob Biswas, which streamed on ZEE5 from 03 December 2021, is all set to release on television. The crime thriller is scheduled to broadcast on Zee Cinema on April 30 at 9:30 pm.
The movie first released on an OTT platform and is now set for a satellite release- this was something unimaginable a few years back. Admitting the same, Abhishek says,"Yes, a few years back we couldn't have imagined these sort of release strategies... But it's a wonderful thing to be an actor right now. We are living in exciting times where rules are being rewritten altogether."
"Through TV, Bob Biswas will reach those audiences who might've been completely unaware about the film. The viewer base of television is far more superior to any other medium currently and Zee Cinema already has a huge subscriber base. I'm really happy that so many people will get a chance to see and enjoy the film. I look forward to a lot more diverse kind of reactions when Bob Biswas comes on TV," he adds.
Written by Sujoy Ghosh and directed by his daughter Diya Annapurna Ghosh, Bob Biswas is produced by Gauri Khan, Sujoy Ghosh and Gaurav Verma.
The movie is spin-off from Vidya Balan's 2012 release Kahaani and follows the story of an eponymous character in the film (which was played by noted Bengali actor Saswata Chatterjee).
Abhishek is all praises for director Divya Annapurna Ghosh, who he thinks has a great potential."She's new, young and a vivacious talent who got a huge thumbs up for her maiden outing. I'm very happy for her, for the film and the kind of love that she received for it," says the Delhi-6 (2009) actor.
Abhishek, whose performance in the recently released Dasvi (2022) won the hearts of fans and critics alike, says he has always believed in doing good work. "When your performance is appreciated, it always acts as a good confidence booster. But then you can't rest on the laurels of what you've done in the past. You need to start working towards a new dawn. Nevertheless, I feel touched by all the love and positive response that has come in," concludes the actor.
