Celebrating its one-year milestone on August 11th, 'Laal Singh Chaddha' marked the passage of time as actress Mona Singh delved into her memorable journey while collaborating with Aamir Khan on the project. Within the film's narrative, Mona portrayed the role of Gurpreet Kaur, the pivotal maternal figure to Aamir Khan's titular character, Laal Singh Chaddha.
Reflecting on her experience, Mona candidly shared, 'Laal Singh Chaddha' was a turning point for me, where my portrayal of Gurpreet Kaur left an indelible imprint on the movie. Working alongside Aamir has consistently presented challenges and intensity, with Laal Singh Chaddha marking our second cinematic venture together, following '3 Idiots'.
Diving into her role's complexity, Mona embraced the contrasting nature of her character's lifespan, spanning from 18 to 60 years old. "Portraying such a diverse character was a demanding endeavor, and it was a gratifying moment to witness the audience's wide acceptance of the character," Mona elaborated.
Recalling a poignant shooting incident from her final day on set, Mona recounted a scene in which Laal's mother exhibits extraordinary courage and resilience. Upon completion of the scene, Aamir Khan and director Advait Chandan spontaneously embraced Mona, prompting an emotional outpouring from the cast and crew who erupted in applause and tears simultaneously.
Helmed by director Advait Chandan, the cinematic venture Laal Singh Chaddha also featured Kareena Kapoor Khan in a significant role. As the official Hindi remake of the revered 1994 Hollywood classic 'Forrest Gump.'
