Kiara Advani made her Bollywood debut with the 2014 film Fugly and there has been no looking back for her ever since. The actress went on to star in a number of flicks and the 2019 blockbuster, Kabir Singh cemented her position in Bollywood. Since then, she has been ruling over the hearts of audiences with her remarkable performance and charming looks.

Kiara, who is currently awaiting the release of her upcoming horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 recalled her struggling days in an interview. She recounted the period when designers turned her down for their clothes, but Manish Malhotra saved her. She also revealed an incident about filmmaker Karan Johar signing her when she was a nobody in the industry.

Kiara replied when asked what kept her going, “You have to… You can’t take everything too personally as at the end of the day, this is business…Today, I understand where these people would have come from…”

She also mentioned that apparel brands prefer to be exclusive and don't always want to provide it to everyone. “I feel like Manish is one of these people who never looked at it like that,” said the actress.

She also praised filmmaker Karan Johar, saying that while he is disliked for nepotism, he chose her when she was a nobody. She also revealed how her talent agency, which was connected to Karan, never recommended her to him. “It took a random party after which he called me the next day and said that he wants to take me in his film,” she said. However, she was able to bag Lust Stories thanks to the fortunate encounter.

Following that, Kiara collaborated with Karan on films like Kalank (2019), Shershaah (2021), etc. She is currently waiting for the release of Dharma Productions' forthcoming film Jug Jugg Jeeyo.
